Braun was on The Daily Show last night, and was a really fun guest. Straight-talking, fun, and confident, despite a doomed campaign. It's a shame she dropped out. There's a lot to be said for the "progress" of hearing the voice of an African-American woman politician.
She said she was for peace (who isn't?) and remarked "live long and prosper" while making a Vulcan hand sign. Then, when talking about how fear domainates domestic policies, she said "fear is the mind-killer." which is a quote from Frank Herbert's "Dune".
Was she intentionally pandering to the (presumably sci-fi friendly) audience, or were these just the types of thoughts that come to mind? Either way, I love it.
